Bendik Finnerud has a distinctive sense of elaboration of the late romantic piano repertoire. His program often consists of the extremes of composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and Liszt. Finnerud is concerned with showing the enormous musical range that many composers have accumulated throughout their lives, rather than interpreting works that are usually associated with the period and the composer. Bendik always tries to see the score with new eyes, and lets the concert day’s emotional touches characterize the performance. Many composers have often said of themselves that they never played their works the same at concerts. This is something Bendik is inspired by and takes with him into his musical universe where he lets spontaneity be his guiding star.

Bendik Finnerud is a graduate of the Barratt Due Music Institute where he completed his master’s degree in 2008 with the renowned pianist and professor Jiri Hlinka. Finnerud is CEO the concert series Saturday Classics, with monthly classical concerts at Sentralen in Oslo. Bendik Finnerud is also CEO for the Oslo Classics music festival. In addition, Bendik plays in the piano trio – Oslo III.

Bendik Finnerud har en særegen sans for utdyping av det senromantiske klaverreppertoaret. Programmet hans består ofte av ytterpunktene hos komponister som Chopin, Debussy, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov og Liszt. Finnerud er opptatt av å vise den enorme musikalske bredden veldig mange komponister opparbeidet seg gjennom livene sine, fremfor å tolke verker man vanligvis assosierer med perioden og komponisten. Bendik forsøker alltid å se partituret med nye øyne, og lar konsertdagens emosjonelle anstrøk prege fremførelsen. Mange komponister har ofte sagt om seg selv, at de aldri spilte verkene sine likt ved konsertering. Dette er noe Bendik inspireres av og tar med seg inn i sitt musikalske univers der han lar spontaniteten være sin ledestjerne.

Bendik Finnerud er utdannet ved Barratt Dues Musikkinstitutt der han fullførte mastergrad i 2008 ved den anerkjente pianisten og professoren Jiri Hlinka. Finnerud er daglig leder for konsertserien Saturday Classics, med månedlige klassiske konserter på Sentralen i Oslo. Bendik Finnerud er også daglig leder for musikkfestivalen Oslo Classics. I tillegg spiller Bendik i klavertrioen Oslo III.
